FAQs
Tools with Metabo battery packs offer unbeatable advantages; the ability to work without cords, independent of an outlet, offers freedom, flexibility, and mobility. Metabo's battery packs are also lightweight and perfectly balanced. This protects against fatigue. With a Metabo battery pack, you can count on plenty of power, a long runtime and short charging times. Of course, Metabo battery packs are also backward compatible, meaning they can also be used to operate older Metabo tools. The battery pack also fits on over 45 other brands that are part of the CAS multi-brand battery system. Thanks to their rugged design and smart battery management, combined with a cell protection function, Metabo batteries are durable and safe. Because of this, we are able to offer a 3-year battery warranty.
All Metabo 18 volt battery packs (LiPOWER, LiHD, LiHDX) are compatible with all 18 V Metabo cordless tools, like the cordless combination hammer, cordless impact wrench or cordless mitre saw. They can be charged with all Metabo chargers with a 5-pin slide-on mount and a voltage range of 12 to 18 or 36 volts. In practice, this means that new and old Metabo batteries and tools are compatible with one another – if they are 18 volt tools, battery packs or chargers. 12, 14.4 or 36 volt batteries are not compatible with 18 volt tools.
Based on past experience, a Metabo battery pack will last around 3 to 5 years with average use.
Yes, Metabo cordless tools – such as cordless combination hammers – can certainly be used outdoors; they are specifically designed for use outdoors and on construction sites. Typically, almost all of our cordless tools fulfil protection class IP 20. The permitted ambient operating temperature, therefore, is -20 °C bis 50 °C.
3-year battery pack warranty incl. charger. Furthermore, all devices have a 3-year warranty after registration (called the XXL warranty). Battery packs included in the scope of delivery for a tool do not need to be registered separately.
Today, Metabo uses 12 V and 18 V almost exclusively as standard battery platforms. Previously used classes like 14.4 V or 36 V are offered for only a few specialised devices.
CAS stands for “Cordless Alliance System” – the multi-brand battery pack system. More than 45 brands have already combined forces to make tools, battery packs and chargers 100% compatible. As a result, all tools can work with the same CAS battery pack. More information is available at: https://www.cordless-alliance-system.de/
