New 18-volt cordless hand-held circular saw from Metabo
Nürtingen, May 2021: Precisely sawing strong materials, flexibly anywhere: the 18-volt cordless hand-held circular saw KS 18 LTX 66 BL expands Metabo's range of hand-held circular saws with another cordless device. The saw achieves a maximum cutting depth of 66 millimeters - and does so with a particularly compact design, as the size and weight of the KS 18 LTX 66 BL are comparable to conventional 55-millimeter hand-held circular saws.
With the KS 18 LTX 66 BL's pendulum hood pre-feed, the work is easy to do: with a lever, professionals in the woodworking trade can fold back the pendulum hood at the start of the saw cut. This frees up the view of the crack and allows the saw to be positioned effortlessly. Users set the desired cutting depth quickly and easily with a large clamping lever. Angles from 0 to plus 46 degrees are possible for precision-fit cuts, and automatic stops help users quickly find the 0- and 45-degree settings. The powerful saw delivers precise results every time, and a second handle on the base plate provides optimal control while working. "An integrated LED interface light also helps users accurately identify the scribe. If there is no guide rail to hand, they can still guide the saw precisely along the marking," says Maximilian Knauß, product manager at Metabo. The extraction nozzle ensures cleanliness: It can be rotated 360 degrees and locked in place, preventing unintentional twisting when it is connected to a vacuum cleaner, for example. A dust collection bag is already included in the scope of delivery.
The cordless hand-held circular saw is ideal for numerous applications in professional woodworking, such as format cuts in panels or cross and longitudinal cuts in solid wood. But miter cuts are also possible with the precise saw. The KS 18 LTX 66 BL is also compatible with the new Metabo cross-cutting rail system KFS, opening up even more application options: "The new rail system simply turns the cordless hand-held circular saw into a mobile cross-cutting saw, for precise-angle cross-cuts in places where a stationary cross-cut saw cannot reach," explains Knauß. The hand-held circular saw can also be coupled with the FS guide rail system from Metabo as well as with the guide rails from most other manufacturers and can thus be guided precisely anywhere. A rip fence is also already included in the scope of delivery. Because the narrow motor housing does not protrude over the base plate of the saw, this can also be used as a fence on the left side of the machine. The KS 18 LTX 66 BL is available in a choice of metaBOX or boxed sets. In addition to the rip fence and dust bag, the "cordless cut wood - classic" saw blade is included as standard.
