What is the "Find My" network?

The "Find My" network helps you find lost Apple devices like iPhones, iPads, AirTags or Metabo Trackers – worldwide. It uses a large network of devices to determine the location of your lost items. And the best thing? The entire process is secure and anonymous.
 

How does it work?
 

1.    Lots of other devices help: Imagine a large number of Apple devices, like iPhone and iPads, that are connected to one another. They form a large network, like a group of friends working together.


2.    Your Tracker is lost – imagine you've lost your Tool, to which the Tracker is attached. If it is near another Apple device, this device can "see" your Tracker.


3.    Bluetooth makes it possible: Your Tracker transmits a small, anonymous signal via Bluetooth. Other Apple devices nearby can receive this signal.


4.    Location transmission: The receiving device sends information on the location of the iPhone to the Apple server. Don't worry – everything is encrypted, so no one but you knows which device is where.


5.    You receive a message: If you are looking for your lost device, you can view the location of the lost device on a map in the "Find My" app.

Stalking protection standard.

Specialised protection against stalking means the Metabo Tracker cannot be used by any other person.

If you have a Metabo Tracker with you that doesn't belong to you, your cell phone will send you a message.
 

Tracker sound:

After a certain time away from its owner, the Metabo Tracker also makes a noise. You can also signal it to make a sound.

FAQs – Frequently asked questions

 

Do I need the Metabo App to use the tracker?

No. The Metabo Tracker also works as a stand-alone solution in the Apple "Find My" app. The Metabo App allows you to use additional functions, however, like linking registered tools to the Tracker.


Can I use the Tracker with my Android device?

No. The location function, ring function and notification function when you leave the Tracker behind only work with the Apple "Find My" app. This app only works with an iPhone or iPad, as well as with an Apple Watch or Mac.
 

How many Trackers can I connect?

A maximum of 32 objects, such as Metabo Trackers, Apple AirTags, etc. can be connected in the Apple "Find My" app.
 

Can I use the Trackers with others as well?

Yes, above iOS version 17, the Tracker can be shared with up to 5 other people who also use the "Find My" app.


How long does the battery last?

The battery life is up to 3 years from the time you begin operation of the Tracker and connect it to the Apple "Find My" app. The battery level is displayed in the app, and you can also easily exchange the CR2450 button cell batteries yourself after 3 years.
