Range of accessories extended to include combined cut-off and grinding disks, bi-metal keyhole saws and carbide hammer drills

Precise, practical and productive

New accessories at Metabo / A single disk offering two applications: “Combinator” cuts off and grinds // Hard teeth for bi-metal keyhole saws / Efficient work thanks to “Quick” adapter system // Carbide hammer drills: robust and precise / “SDS Plus Pro 4 Premium” drills into any rock with its embedded full-carbide panel / Long anchor efficiency

With three new launches in the area of accessories, Metabo aims at complying with the requirements of the trade in terms of quality, precision, handling and costs in the working process. Accordingly, the “Combinator” grinding disk, for example, puts an end to time-consuming interruptions associated with changing disks or tools. Only 1.9 mm thick, the combined cut-off and grinding disk for angle grinders not only enables swift, clean and straight separation of a wide variety of materials; according to the supplier, the ultra-slim disk also permits grinding tasks such as chamfering and deburring. This saves tool costs without necessitating the user to make any compromises in terms of safety. Apparently, this is made possible by high-quality manufacturing as well as a third full-surface web layer for additional stability, whereby adherence to the lateral load of 290 N specified for grinding disks was tested by an independent institute. Whether for pipes or profiles, sheet steel or solid material: the iron- and sulphur-free combination disk separates and grinds stainless steel, non-rusting and acid-resistant steel, high-alloy and high-tensile steel as well as galvanised parts or tool steel. The areas of application range from sanitary and electrical installations through container and bodywork construction to aircraft construction and shipbuilding. Measuring 1.9 x 22.23 mm and with diameters of 115 and 125 mm, the “Combinator” is available from specialised retail outlets.

Fast bi-metal keyhole saws
The new bi-metal keyhole saws from Metabo are also tailored to the demands of professional users. With teeth made of specially hardened steel featuring an 8% cobalt alloy, they are robust, durable and particularly fast. Top performance values in terms of cutting speed currently achieved in aluminium or sheet steel as well as steel panels are the result of innovative serration with irregular tooth arrangements. Enabling both savings in time of up to 50% and smooth drilling. Another advantage in terms of saving time is represented by the new “Quick” adapter system with which bi-metal keyhole saws and centring drills can be swiftly and easily exchanged in a single step. This system goes with all bi-metal keyhole saws offered by the Nürtingen-based tool specialist as well as almost all standard competitor products. With the result that awkward and time-consuming changing of the centring drill using an Allen key is now a thing of the past. The range of bi-metal keyhole saws is available in new-look, space-saving packaging for a total of 53 sizes ranging from 14 to 152 mm in diameter. These all-rounders are available either individually or in sets for use in materials such as steel, stainless steel and construction steel, aluminium, PVC, acrylic and plexiglass, plasterboard or wood. They drill or saw holes for water, heating and ventilation pipes, connection boxes, electric switches and much more.

Durable hammer drills
The “SDS Plus Pro 4 Premium” carbide hammer drill is regarded as an effective problem-solver where high demands are made on quality. It avails of a centring tip as well as sturdy four-blade geometry and features a single-section carbide panel integrated in the face via which the drill offsets impact and torsional forces while proving to be significantly more durable when compared to other versions. Four consistently-performing, symmetrical carbide cutting edges break even the hardest of natural stone into many small pieces accompanied by fast yet low-vibration drilling. Not least thanks to the integrated and patented reinforcement chamfers and real four-edge face geometry, the possibility of catching in reinforcements inside hard concrete is practically excluded, claims the Swabian company. What’s more, this special symmetrical face geometry permits circular and precise drilling holes which in turn extends the anchor efficiency offered by the “SDS Plus Pro 4 Premium” by up to 50% over other premium products available on the market. Furthermore, spudding is facilitated while minimising the danger of slipping at the same time. A large-volume, dipping spiral geometry ensures favourable transmission of force and therefore fast conveyance of drilling debris. According to Metabo, the bottom line is that users not only drill more precisely – they also increase their productivity. “SDS Plus Pro 4 Premium” hammer drills are particularly suitable for use in class 2-4 kg drill hammers with the corresponding tool mounts. The range available in specialist retail outlets comprises 34 drills with diameters of 5 to 14 mm.
