A generation change in the 7 kg class:New SDS-max “KHE 76” combi-hammer with Metabo VibraTech system (MVT)Feared by concrete, appreciated by jointsNew combi-hammer in the 7 kg class / Easy to handle, powerful output / With Metabo VibraTech system (MVT) / New: spring-loaded “active” mass-balance weights / Tried and tested: vibration attenuation in the main and extra handles / Overall impact and vibrations reduced by 30% / High degree of user comfort / 12 positions for the chisel, extra handle rotating through 360° and soft-impact function / With VTC electronics for constant output Nürtingen, 4 March 2009. Whether for drilling large hole diameters or powerful chiselling, the new “KHE 76” combi-hammer from Metabo always cuts a hard-hitting figure. But when it comes to protecting the user, the 7 kg machine is also well able to show its gentle side. With the result that the manufacturer has applied various measures summarised as the Metabo VibraTech system (MVT) which currently reduces harmful vibrations by more than 30% and therefore represents one of the most effective solutions currently available on the market. According to the product description, this reduction in impact and vibrations to less than 10 m/s2 is attributable to new, spring-loaded “active” mass-balance weights (Tilger system) on the one hand. On the other hand, it is also achieved via tried-and-tested vibration attenuation in the main and extra handles. It is exactly this combination which has such a favourable effect on the user’s joints, not to mention the fact that symptoms of fatigue are also less prevalent. With a high impact energy of 16 J, the hammer impact mechanism ensures swift progress and efficient material removal when drilling and chiselling. The “KHE 76” avails of a powerful 1500-Watt motor and can drill holes of up to 50 mm in diameter in concrete. When using drill or core bits, diameters of up to 150 and 80 mm, respectively, are possible. Furthermore, this innovative product effortlessly slits open cable channels or chisels through asphalt – while offering convenient features for the user. The chisel, for example, can be fixed in a total of 12 different positions while an arresting switch provides relief during continuous operation. Improved posture is also ensured by the extra handle which can be turned through 360°. Yet another special feature is represented by the soft-impact function which reduces hammer output by 30% – for working on softer materials such as tiles, for example. As a key purchase criterion regarding durability and user protection, the Nürtingen-based producer highlights the robust gearbox housing made of magnesium die casting as well as the VTC electronics which guarantee automatically constant impact counts under load. A service display provides information on imminent carbon brush changes and current supply voltage. A safety coupling protects both the user and the machine in the event of the drill jamming. Apart from a plastic case, extra handle, drill depth, lubricant and cloth for cleaning, the scope of supply also includes a mains cable which is 6 metres in length instead of the standard 4 metres. By launching the “KHE 76” combi-hammer, Metabo sees itself as having subjected the 7 kg class to the same generation change already undergone in the 5 and 10 kg classes thereby providing professionals in the building sector with a full range of high-quality SDS-max combi-hammers featuring innovative anti-vibration technology.
