Metabo presents the new Porsche Design Multihammer P’7911Innovative handle for ease of operationNürtingen/Bietigheim-Bissingen. The power tool specialist Metabo, whose headquarters are at Nürtingen, presents a new Multihammer developed in collaboration with the Porsche Design Group. “It combines sophisticated, purist design with innovative ergonomics, comprehensive functionality, advanced technology and high precision, said the chairman of the board of directors of Metabowerke GmbH, Dr. Johannes Haupt. Elaborating on that point, the managing director of Porsche Design-Studios, Roland Heiler added: “In this product, design is an integral part of functionality. “What was particularly important for us was outstanding and distinctive design, for which Porsche Design is famous, explained Haupt, referring to the collaboration with the Porsche Design Group. “Today, premium brands in particular must deliver more than just functionality. This view has been confirmed by a representative survey, initiated by Metabo and conducted by the Forsa Institute, which showed that a majority of those surveyed in Germany, Great Britain, France, Spain and the Czech Republic are fully receptive to power tools of innovative design. The Porsche Design Multihammer P’7911 combines all the essential functions of a drill with the power of a pneumatic hammer. It has a unique housing made of genuine carbon fibre and aluminium, with the handle mounted on top of the housing. This makes the P’7911 very easy to operate: the forces acting are almost perfectly balanced, both in the patented “on top handle position and the other way up, for example when drilling above shoulder height. Moreover, the hammer lies directly under the operator’s hand, thus ensuring a stable centre of gravity and therefore feels lighter than comparable power tools. In addition, thanks to the hammer’s special design, the perfect balance reduces pivoting at the drill tip. In addition the flat base surface enables the hammer to stand up, so that it is always ready for use. The 705 watt Porsche Design Multihammer P’7911 drills into concrete, stone, wood and steel, with just one switch for conveniently selecting all the different functions. Its five settings – hammer drilling, drilling without hammer action for the first or second speed, chiselling and screwdriving – make short work of all the jobs arising in the home or the jobsite. Its centrepiece is the powerful compact motor specially designed to meet all loads placed on it. Like the rest of the hammer, it is manufactured at Metabo’s Nürtingen headquarters. Moreover, this multihammer is equipped with tried and tested technical features such as quick chuck change, progressively variable speed and a high-performance pneumatic impact mechanism. The housing is made of genuine carbon fibre, which provides great rigidity and strength. This material is in fact used principally in the aerospace industry, and also in car manufacture. Carbon fibre components are considerably lighter than components made of steel or aluminium and are also very attractive in appearance. With its silver aluminium surround the Multihammer has a sleek, striking appearance. A carrying case of purist design is provided for storage, which can be opened and closed with one hand.
