Always one step ahead

Nuremberg/Nürtingen, 24th March 2010. In the well-known jigsaw design with its streamlined motor casing and rod handle, Metabo has now launched two new electronic 2-shell devices for the middle performance range with a cutting depth of  90 or 100 mm in wood. The quick blade change system of the models "STE 90 SCS" and "STE 100 SCS" was specifically improved again and now works even without the opening function. This means that these innovations and their many user-oriented details for processing wood, metal and plastic now meet the growing demands of modern joiners and furniture makers, carpenters and interior finishers and are ideal as practical multipurpose or spare devices.

Being able to exchange the saw blade quickly is a great relief as this is a frequent occurrence. However speed in this case does not just mean that no tools are required, it also means easy handling. The new Metabo "Quick" saw blade change system beats the competition two-fold: first of all thanks to the large format clamping lever, and secondly the operating steps required from opening the clamping lever through to securing the exchanged saw blade have been reduced to the absolute minimum.

Straight cuts thanks to the Metabo "SCS"
Both the "STE 90 SCS" and also the "STE 100 SCS" have a 4-fold orbital action that ensures a high cutting output and, in conjunction with the Vario-Constamatic (VC) full wave electronics, ensures the application-specific adjustment of the number of strokes.
The small compact machines that weigh just 2.2 kg can be easily operated with one hand and offer good curve mobility. The guide plate can be moved back for tight edge cuts. There is a chip break guard in the guide plate for tear-free edges. Other features include the tool-less adjustment of the base plate of up to 45° for easy execution of angular cuts and the Metabo Straight Cut System SCS which allows simple straight cuts to be performed particularly precisely and cleanly because the saw blade is stabilised via a fin which is set into the guide plate to counteract the course of the blade.

Another factor that plays an important role when deciding what product to buy: the cutting area is always clearly visible when using the machine. An LED lamp and blower ensure that the work area is well illuminated and the cutting line is clearly visible which helps when checking the cutting line. The blower can be deactivated when cutting metal so that the cooling liquid is not blown away. The ergonomic design, the large rubber surface on the rod handle and a switch which is easily accessible for both right and left-handed people ensure easy, low-fatigue and safe handling.

The "STE 90 SCS" and "STE 100 SCS" use their nominal power levels of 610 or 630 Watt to achieve high performance outputs. Apart from for wood, the new jig saws, which are delivered in a plastic case, are also suitable for sawing non-ferrous metals in thicknesses of 20 to 25 mm and steel plating up to thicknesses of 6 or 8 mm. The delivery scope also includes: 3 saw blades, protective glass, grip guard, chip break guard plates, extraction pipes and a hexagon spanner (only for "STE 100 SCS"). The accessories program also contains various saw blade types for various applications; circular and parallel lines, guide fixture, angle stop, guide rail and an inserted protection plate.
